I really love peaches, guys. One of the simplest pleasures in life is biting into a ripe, summer peach, and I'm so excited peach season is almost here.

When I realized the Tim Burton film, James and the Giant Peach, turns 20 this week (on April 12), I thought rounding up 20 peach-packed recipes would be a delicious and fitting way to celebrate! If you're anything like me (and I hope you are!), your mouth is already watering and you're ready to whip up some peachy-keen snacks and watch James go on his adventure.

Brad and I recently (well, it was last October) took a Friend-cation with two of our good friends, Julie and Nathan. It was pretty spontaneous, and completely irresponsible. Basically, the four of us were having brunch, and realized we all had the weekend free in three weeks (from then, obviously). After joking that we should drive to Disney World, the conversation turned serious, and suddenly, we were scrolling through Expedia looking for cheap hotel rooms.

Three weeks later, we set off for our overnight drive from Chicagoland to Orlando. I know, completely irresponsible.

But so. Much. Fun.

Here’s how to plan your own adults only friend-cation!

2015 was a pretty exciting year for the Disney parks: Disneyland celebrated its 60th anniversary, while Hong Kong Disney marked its tenth, brand new Toy Story and Star Wars lands are coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. And speaking of Star Wars, The Force Awakens continues to break box office records.

If you spend any time at all on the internet look at or reading about Disney parks, chances are you’ve heard of Lou Mongello. He’s sort of a big deal to the Disney fan community. You probably listen to his podcast, WDW Radio, and if you do, you might have heard him mention this book. And while Brad and I have been WDW Radio listeners for quite some time, we only recently downloaded 102 Ways.

Be Prepared: Road Trip Emergency Essentials

9/1/2015

Comments

Road trips can make for an exciting vacation. But if you are ill-prepared for any mishaps, fun can turn to disaster in the blink of an eye. To soften the blow of any problems, you must "be prepared" -- though I would recommend you interpret this more along the lines of the good old motto of the Boy Scouts, rather than the anthem of a totalitarian Scar and his hyenas.

Bearing this in mind -- and forgive me, because I am about to go full Eagle Scout right now -- it is my very strong suggestion that you consider dedicating half of your trunk space to emergency preparedness. Read on, if you dare.

Sure, you know you need sunblock, ponchos and bandaids with you in the parks, but here are 8 items that will make your days a breeze.

First, let's talk about your park bag itself. We bring a North Face backpack with us. Now normally, I'm not one to promote a particular brand, but in this case, I will. Brad has had this back pack for years, all the way through undergrad and now into grad school. And, it's still in great shape! This backpack is a trooper. We really do recommend investing in a quality backpack, and North Face brand offers great, longterm choices.
