Wasn't Columbus Day like, last week? How could a month move so quickly?!
Whether you're headed out for a house party, a night on the town, or answering the trick-or-treaters, you'll need a costume!
I've got a list of costumes you can pull off in a pinch. You might even have everything you need in your closet!
I think the best costumes are the creative ones, i.e. not another Slutty Witch or Naughty Nurse. But, you also don't have to work for months to hand make a creative costume! Although, if you have the skills to craft a beautiful, inspired costume, then don't let me stop you!
But what about the rest of us? We need original(ish) Halloween costumes too!
In all honesty, last week Brad and I went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party dressed as Mickey and Minnie. They were last minute costumes, and totally unoriginal. Do as I say, not as I do. After the party (which was super fun, and definitely a highlight of our friend-cation), I started thinking about other last minute Halloween costumes, ones that have more personality to them.
So I put together this list, first as a reference for myself to have on hand next year. But then I realized that I'm not the only person in the world who reverts to Minnie Mouse when all else fails. All of these costumes are super easy to throw together. You probably already own many of the pieces, and the rest are quickly acquired any Party City or Goodwill.
Inside Out Characters
For Joy: A lime green (or yellow) dress, a floral pattern is all the better; a blue pixie wig, and some body glitter to imitate her effervescence.
For Sadness: A white oversize turtle neck; blue leggings; blue wig; oversize glasses.
For Anger: Gray pants; white short sleeved oxford shirt; red/blue tie, preferably in the wide style from the 1970s.
Remy from Ratatouille
For Remy: Start by wearing all gray; a tall chef's hat; a tail and ears; use eyeliner to whiskers and either lipstick or Halloween makeup for a pink nose; accessorize with a wooden spoon.
For Kim: Green cargo pants with utility belt; black crop top; black gloves; red wig; bad-ass attitude.
For Bambi: Wear all brown and tan; deer makeup; antlers or ears.
Chip and Dale
For Chip: Bomber jacket; brown pants; Indiana Jones style hat; eye liner, Halloween makeup (or heck, a Crayola marker would work) for nose.
For Dale: Red Hawaiian shirt; brown pants; lipstick, Halloween makeup or a marker for red nose (don't use a red clown nose, or people will just think you're a clown!).
So do you have any good ideas for quick and simple Halloween costumes? Did you ideas make my list? If you have any other ideas, please share them with me! Especially if you have any pictures to share!
Bye friends, and have a spooktacular Halloween!
