Foodie Friday: Meatless Options in the Parks

2/27/2015

Comments

We are in full Lenten swing, and for many that means no meat on Fridays. That commitment might make the spring breakers have a second thought about where to eat in the parks. But never fear, there are lots of delicious meatless options at Walt Disney World!

I'm a full time pescatarian (that's a fancy name for someone who eats fish, but not red meat or poultry) and Lent is one of my favorite times of year because I suddenly have more meatless options! I find wonderful dishes in the parks year-round, so you can and will definitely enjoy tasty Lenten specials!
I put together a list of counter service and sit down restaurants in the parks that offer a variety of meatless options. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but is just meant to give you an idea of where find meatless meal choices.

Animal Kingdom

Yak and Yeti: Ginger Salmon, Tempura Shrimp, Malaysian Seafood Curry

Pizzafari: Cheese Pizza, Vegetable Pizza

Rainforest Cafe: Tribal Salmon, Caribbean Coconut Shrimp, Shrimp Platter

Hollywood Studios

ABC Commissary: Couscous Quinoa and Arugula Salad, Fish Platter, Asian Salad with Salmon

Backlot Express: Cantaloupe and Cucumber Salad, Grilled Vegetable Salad

50s Prime Time Cafe: Cousin Ryan's Vegetable Lasagna, Cousin Brandon's Grilled Salmon, Vegetarian Multigrain Spaghetti

Mama Melrose: Wild Mushroom Flatbread, Seafood Arrabbiata, Shrimp Campanelle

Epcot

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe: Salmon and Egg Sandwich, Vegetable Torte

Sunshine Seasons: Spicy Thai Green Curry Shrimp, Oak-Grilled Salmon, Fish Tacos

Coral Reef: Baked Cheese Manicotti, Seared Mahi Mahi, Seared Rainbow Trout

Rose and Crown: Fish and Chips, Vegetable Cottage Pie, Pan-roasted Scottish Salmon

Magic Kingdom

Be Our Guest (lunch): Tuna Nicoise Salad, Vegetable Quiche, Quinoa Salad

Columbia Harbour House: Anchors Away Sandwich, Lighthouse Tuna Sandwich, Lobster Roll

Be Our Guest (dinner): Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops, Pan-seared Salmon on Leek Fondue, Ratatouille

Tony's Town Square: Shrimp Scampi, Eggplant Catasta, Margherita Pizza

Like I said, this is by no means an exhaustive list of meatless entrees. It doesn't even touch any of the amazing restaurants in Disney's hotels. Check out the Disney Dining Page to see complete menus and Disney Food Blog to read more reviews to help you with your planning.
